Hong Kong, October 21, 2025 — In a continued demonstration of its five-year commitment to public welfare, the China-Bangladesh Friendship Center (CBFC 中孟友好中心) and its partners organized a successful vaccination drive yesterday, bringing together diverse communities in Hong Kong to promote accessible healthcare and social cohesion. This latest program, led by CBFC and Asian Club Limited (亞會有限公司) with the backing of the Hong Kong Association of Naturalized Chinese (香港歸化華人協會), received additional support from the India Club Hong Kong, Hong Kong Nepalese Federation, Puj Brahman Samaj Hong Kong, and Tung Chung Tamil Muslim Jamah. At the same time, Hope Federation Union 協進同行 sponsored gifts for guests and vaccine recipients.

Dr. Fakhrul Islam babu, founder of CBFC, spoke to attendees, thanking all guests for their presence and all supporters who contributed to the program’s success. He underscored the initiative’s five-year track record of collaboration. He emphasized that sustained partnerships are crucial for expanding access to vaccines and other essential services within Hong Kong’s diverse communities. The event also highlighted the broader public health context: seasonal influenza vaccines, updated annually based on global surveillance, are the primary tool to prevent influenza and its complications. By prime-boosting the immune system against the viruses expected to circulate each season, these vaccines reduce the risk of infection, hospitalizations, and severe outcomes, particularly among the elderly, young children, pregnant individuals, and those with chronic conditions. In Hong Kong’s dense and highly connected environment, vaccination helps blunt seasonal surges, protecting individuals and the healthcare system’s capacity while supporting economic and social stability through fewer sick days and disruptions in schools and workplaces. Dr. Fakhrul’s initiative thus aligns with public health goals to promote inclusive, community-centered vaccination efforts and to foster trust through culturally sensitive outreach.
Distinguished attendees included District Councilor Ms. Aruna Gurung, Mr. Haywood, and community leader Mr. Bipu Haq, alongside legal professional Dr. Halima Ismail and medical professional Dr. Rinzin Chodor. Community representatives, including Mr. Mohamed Hasan Vena, Mr. Ghulam Mustafa, Mr. , and Mr. Niaz Hossai, also attended, reflecting the broad-based support that characterizes these efforts. Program highlights showcased how the vaccination drive brought together families, elders, and first-time vaccine recipients, with volunteers assisting at registration, guidance, and post-vaccination observation. Gifts sponsored by Hope Federation Union were distributed to guests and vaccine recipients as tokens of appreciation for participation and trust in public health services.
The organizers reaffirmed their dedication to ongoing collaboration, aiming to sustain and expand immunization outreach and other community welfare activities. May Allah SWT accept these efforts and bless the communities served.
