Touhid Hossain said these things at a press conference organized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
He said, India has stopped visas for whatever reason. It is their sovereign right to issue visas. If any country does not issue visas to anyone or any group, then no question can be raised. We hope India will inform us of their decision.
Touhid Hossain said, the statement of India’s chief advisor is our position. We want working relations with India.
It is worth noting that India has closed visa application centers in Bangladesh indefinitely, citing the unstable situation since the fall of the autocratic Sheikh Hasina government in the mass uprising of students and the public on August 5. After a long closure, visa applications in Bangladesh have been resumed on a limited scale. However, the country has announced that it will not issue visas other than medical visas and some urgent needs.
