Effective and time-befitting strategies will be undertaken to transform the Bangladesh Forest Industries Development Corporation (BFIDC) into a profitable and dynamic institution by ensuring the proper utilization of national resources, said Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and the Ministry of Water Resources.
She made the statement while visiting BFIDC’s Cabinet Manufacturing Plant in Mirpur today. She emphasized the need for BFIDC to move forward by integrating modern technology, building a skilled workforce, and producing market-oriented products.
Chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, accompanied the Advisor during the visit. They held extensive discussions on BFIDC’s production processes, management structure, and market expansion strategies.
The discussions highlighted the necessity of conducting a feasibility study on importing advanced rubber clones from abroad to boost rubber production. Emphasis was also laid on formulating a modern sales and marketing strategy to enhance competitiveness in the furniture industry.
BFIDC Chairman Md. Nasir Uddin, along with senior officials from the ministry and the corporation, were present during the visit and discussions.
