The New People’s Party recommended govt. to hold a vaccine lottery

The New People’s Party recommended government to hold a vaccine lottery. The lottery will take place once a week for two months and should only open to inoculated individuals.

The party suggested the winner could have a prize up to HK$5 million, and hundreds of smaller prizes to be arranged for other participants.

New People’s Party required the government to provide more incentives to citizens for getting their jabs, with one of their recommendations being a HK$5 million prize for the winner of vaccine lottery.

Representatives of New People’s Party and Civil Force arrived at the Central Government Offices today and delivered their petition letters. They pointed out that the vaccination rate of the city is not ideal for the moment and required the government to provide more incentives to citizens for getting their vaccines.

Civil Force suggested a 4-day vaccination holiday on the other hand, as well as a HK$2,000 consumption voucher for each dose of vaccine injected.

They also recommended the government to offer convenient travelling schemes to those inoculated, including to resume crossing border to Mainland and to exempt or shorten the length of quarantine. Source: The Standard.
