Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Md Tajul Islam said that Public Health Engineering Department has a huge role in the country’s public health, especially sanitation and clean water supply. The field level diploma engineers of this department are involved in various activities and are working directly to improve the quality of life of the people of the country. So public health diploma engineers are playing a direct role in our national development.
He said this while addressing the Chief Guest at the National Conference-2024 titled “Commitment of Public Health Diploma Engineers in Ensuring Smart Citizen Services” organized by Public Health Engineering Diploma Engineers Association today.
Md Tajul Islam said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, there has been extensive economic development in Bangladesh. Even during the slowdown of the economy due to Russia-Ukraine and Corona virus around the world, various negative effects have been relatively less in Bangladesh because of the right leadership quality of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The Minister of Local Government said that despite the increase in the price of fertilizers in the world market due to the war in Ukraine, the government did not stop the import of fertilizers and agricultural machinery so that farmers are not affected and food production is not disrupted.
At this time, the minister laid emphasis on accountability in all areas including various government departments and said that if accountability is ensured at all levels of the state, people will get its benefits. He also expressed hope that diploma engineers will work with sincerity and professionalism for the welfare of people.
The local government minister emphasized on the beautiful work environment and said that if the work environment is beautiful, it creates satisfaction among the employees which increases their sincerity towards work many times. He urged everyone to work sincerely to create a beautiful working environment in the Directorate of Public Health Engineering. At the end of the speech, the Minister wished the success of the National Conference of Public Health Diploma Engineers.
