Premier Li Qiang Attends the 5th RCEP Leaders’ Summit in Kuala Lumpur

Chinese Premier Li Qiang attended the 5th Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Leaders’ Summit held on Monday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In his remarks, Premier Li noted that more than three years have passed since the RCEP came into effect. Despite the global economic slowdown, economic and trade cooperation among member states continues to deepen, while regional growth remains robust. He emphasized that RCEP has played an essential and constructive role in sustaining this momentum.

Premier Li observed that the current international economic and trade landscape is undergoing complex changes, urging all parties to strengthen coordination, jointly tackle challenges, and accelerate development. He called for building a more open and inclusive regional market, along with taking proactive steps to enhance and upgrade the RCEP framework.

Furthermore, Li underscored the importance of firmly upholding multilateral trade systems with renewed determination. He reaffirmed that China stands ready to work with all partners to ensure that RCEP cooperation continues to deliver tangible and mutually beneficial outcomes.
