Saudi Arabia’s law enforcement agencies have arrested more than 20,000 expatriates. They were arrested in a joint operation to monitor and catch violators of residency, labor, and border security regulations, Arab News reported.
It is reported that from February 27 to March 5, law enforcement agencies arrested 20,749 people in various regions of the country. Of these, 13,871 were arrested for violating residency regulations, 3,517 for violating border security, and 3,361 for violating labor regulations.
In addition, 1,051 people were arrested while trying to enter the kingdom by crossing the border. Of these, 43 percent were Yemenis, 54 percent were Ethiopians, and 3 percent were citizens of other countries. In addition, 90 people were arrested for illegally crossing the border outside the kingdom.
