A Ukrainian drone strike damaged Russia’s largest oil refinery in the northwestern Leningrad region on Saturday, regional governor Alexander Drozdenko said.
In a statement on Telegram, he said air defense systems shot down two drones in the area of the Kinef oil refinery, a subsidiary of Surgutneftegaz. However, the drone debris damaged the outer casing of one of the tanks.
There were no reports of casualties in the incident. The extent of the damage was not specified. However, Ukraine has not commented on the Russian claim.
In a separate statement, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that 31 Ukrainian drones were shot down over Russian territory last night before causing any significant damage.
