Hong Kong – July 30, 2025 — The Hong Kong Nepalese Federation (HKNF) successfully organized its “28th Anniversary of the HKSAR Celebration and Ethnic Minority Volunteers Luncheon” on July 28, 2025, at Blue Ocean Restaurant & Bar in Yau Ma Tei. The event was a significant occasion to honor the invaluable contributions of ethnic minority volunteers and celebrate Hong Kong’s progress over the past 28 years.

The program was presided over by Mr. Rita Gurung, Chairperson of the Hong Kong Nepalese Federation, and featured a vibrant cultural showcase. The Chief Guest was Dr. Binderwar Prasad Lekhak, Consulate General of Nepal in Hong Kong, and the Special Guest was Ms. Ingrid Wong, Assistant District Officer of Yau Tsim Mong District.
Throughout the evening, volunteers who have selflessly dedicated their time and efforts to community service were recognized with certificates of appreciation. A highlight of the event was the presentation of a certificate of appreciation to a prominent community leader for their remarkable social service and leadership.
The celebration also included a luncheon that fostered camaraderie and cultural exchange among attendees. The event was supported by the Home Affairs Department, the Yau Tsim Mong District Office, and the Ethnic Cultural Welfare Association Hong Kong.
In his speech, Dr. Lekhak emphasized the importance of community support and social harmony, while Chairperson Mr. Gurung expressed heartfelt gratitude to all volunteers and community leaders for their dedication. The event reinforced the values of unity, cultural understanding, and mutual respect within Hong Kong’s diverse society.
