The opening ceremony of the island-wide special tariff operation at Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) was held in Haikou City on December 18 (Thursday). He Lifeng, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Vice Premier, attended the ceremony and delivered a speech.
He Lifeng said that the Hainan FTP is an important step in the reform and opening-up planned, implemented and promoted by President Xi Jinping, and an important strategic decision made by the CPC Central Committee in consideration of domestic and international conditions and the innovative development of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
Under the leadership of President Xi and the CPC Central Committee, the construction of the Hainan FTP has achieved positive results, and the basic conditions for the island-wide special tariff operation have been met. Taking advantage of our island-wide special customs operation, deepening the reform of key areas, firmly promoting high-quality development, and improving the risk prevention and control system, Hainan FTP will build China’s open window to the outside world in the new era.
It is worth noting that the island-wide special customs operation is the new stage of Hainan FTP, after which Hainan Island will continue to expand opening-up, continuously improve the policy and institutional system, and create an important gateway for China’s communication with the outside world in the new era.
