October 27: A “Global Dialogue on Innovation, Openness, and Shared Development,” jointly organized by China Media Group (CMG) and the Chinese Embassy in the United States, was recently held in Washington, D.C.
Shen Haixiong, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President of CMG, delivered a video address, while Chinese Ambassador to the U.S. Xie Feng gave the keynote speech.
The dialogue brought together about 100 participants, including international experts, scholars, and student representatives from both China and the United States. They held in-depth discussions on topics such as China’s capacity for global innovation, expansion of high-level openness, shared opportunities, and mutual benefits between China and the world.
In his video message, Shen Haixiong noted that the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, recently concluded in Beijing, marked another milestone in China’s development in the new era. The plenary session reaffirmed China’s commitment to advancing high-level openness and creating a new era of win-win cooperation. Shen emphasized that regardless of global uncertainties, a China that upholds openness, inclusiveness, and innovation will continue to contribute confidence and momentum to the world through consistent policies and stable development.
Ambassador Xie Feng highlighted that the Fourth Plenary Session successfully adopted the CPC Central Committee’s Proposal on the Formulation of the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development. He noted that the scientific formulation and steady implementation of successive Five-Year Plans have been a key governance experience of the CPC and a major political strength of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
Dr. Robert Kuhn, Chairman of the Kuhn Foundation in the United States, stated that the plenary session set forth a grand blueprint for China’s development over the next five years. He expressed confidence that China will continue achieving new historic progress and further deepen cooperation with the world with a pragmatic and open approach, ensuring that the fruits of development benefit all humanity.
The event was broadcast by 1,375 major media outlets across 66 countries and regions, including Yahoo Finance, Associated Press, NBC, Fox News, Market Watch, British European Business Journal, Italy’s AND Kronos, Korea Economic Daily, and The Straits Times of Singapore.
According to CMG, the “Global Dialogue on Innovation, Openness, and Shared Development” will continue to be held in other countries, including Hungary, South Africa, Russia, Bahrain, Chile, Sri Lanka, Denmark, Uruguay, and Nigeria.
