On September 3, China Media Group (CMG) will broadcast the grand commemoration and military parade marking the 80th anniversary of the Chinese People’s victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the world’s victory in the War Against Fascism. The event will reach global audiences in 85 languages.
For this year’s international coverage, CMG has added three new languages—Irish, Pidgin, and Kinyarwanda—expanding its reach across Western Europe, the South Pacific, and Central-East Africa. With 85 languages, CGTN continues to hold its position as the international mainstream media outlet with the widest linguistic coverage in the world.
Currently, CGTN has an audience of 700 million television viewers and 600 million social media followers worldwide. Every day, through its TV channels, radio, apps, and overseas social media accounts, it delivers reports on trending global issues and amplifies China’s voice. In addition, CGTN collaborates with more than 4,700 mainstream news organizations worldwide to present a more comprehensive picture of China and provide in-depth interpretations of Chinese perspectives.
In the run-up to the 80th anniversary commemorations, CGTN has aired a variety of programs—including documentaries, feature films, reports, and commentaries—highlighting the spirit of the great anti-Japanese war under the leadership of the Communist Party of China.
