Chinese President Xi Jinping has stated that his country has always given priority to the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in its diplomatic endeavors. He made these remarks on the morning of 15 July (Tuesday) at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, during a meeting with delegates attending the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers.
President Xi noted that, since its establishment 24 years ago, the SCO has consistently upheld the “Shanghai Spirit,” matured and evolved, and demonstrated robust vitality. Political mutual trust among member states has deepened, and cooperation across various fields has yielded fruitful results. The organization has successfully embarked on a path of regional cooperation that aligns with the trends of the times and meets the needs of all parties, setting an example for a new type of international relations.
Xi further affirmed that China is committed to strengthening the SCO, safeguarding regional security and stability, promoting the development and prosperity of member countries, and building a community of shared prosperity.
