MoU Signed Between Islamic University and Three Chinese Universities

An official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Islamic University (IU) in Bangladesh and three prominent universities in China: Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuchang University of Technology, and Guilin University of Technology.

Professor Dr. Nakib Mohammad Nasrullah, Vice-Chancellor of Islamic University, stated that the agreement would further strengthen mutual cooperation in areas such as faculty and student exchange programs, curriculum development, joint research initiatives, and the organization of seminars.

He shared these details during a briefing with journalists on Monday (14 July), following the return of a higher education delegation from China, led by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The Vice-Chancellor visited China from 6 to 11 July.

“In the initial phase, this MoU has been formulated. More specific agreements will gradually be finalized. Efforts are underway to introduce Chinese language courses at Islamic University, establish a Confucius Institute, implement faculty and student exchange programs, and create scholarship opportunities in China,” he added.

Present at the briefing were Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. M. A. Yakub Ali, Treasurer Professor Dr. Mohammad Jahangir Alam, Acting Registrar Professor Dr. Monzurul Hoque, Director of the International Affairs Division Professor Dr. Nasir Uddin Miji, Student Advisor Professor Dr. Obaidul Islam, and Proctor Professor Dr. Shahinuzzaman.
