On the morning of Wednesday, September 24, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, President of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, visited an exhibition commemorating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Xi emphasized that the remarkable changes in Xinjiang over the past seven decades serve as a vivid example of the historic process of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. He noted that experience has proven the regional ethnic autonomy system established by the Party is entirely correct, and the Party’s governance strategies in Xinjiang in the new era are scientific and effective. These strategies should be upheld over the long term and implemented in alignment with new realities.
The exhibition is organized into three sections, highlighting the achievements of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang over the past 70 years under the firm leadership of the CPC and with support from across the country. It showcases the unity, hard work, and determination of the people of Xinjiang.
Xi Jinping attentively viewed the exhibits and occasionally asked detailed questions. He remarked that the exhibition is full of positive energy and inspirational examples. He suggested that such exhibitions should be organized more widely, emphasizing comparisons between past and present, and presenting vivid examples that unite people’s hearts and energies. According to Xi, this approach will encourage all ethnic groups to foster a shared sense of Chinese national identity and jointly build a prosperous, happy, and harmonious life.
