World peace requires Greenland occupation : Trump

US President Donald Trump has said that the United States needs to occupy Greenland for world peace. With this statement, Trump has further increased his ambition to take control of this strategically important and mineral-rich semi-autonomous territory of Denmark under the control of the Nez nation.

Trump told reporters at the White House, “We are not talking about peace for the United States. We are talking about world peace. We are talking about international security.”

Vice President J.D. Vance, his wife and other senior US officials visited an American military base in Greenland on Friday. The visit was cut short after tensions between Greenlanders and Danes. Greenlanders and Danes were angry that the original travel plans were made without consultation.

Shortly after arriving, Vance sat down for lunch with US troops stationed at the base and said, “We are really interested in Arctic security and if America does not take the lead in this region, powers like China or Russia will.”

“We are not criticizing the people of Greenland. I think they are extraordinary people and they have immense potential here,” Vance said. “Our criticism is really against the leadership of Denmark, who have underinvested in Greenland and paid little attention to its security. That must change. And the US policy is to change that.”

Vance is visiting the semi-autonomous Danish territory at a time when Trump has repeatedly said that the US should somehow control the mineral-rich region controlled by Denmark. Relations between the US and the Nordic country have since soured.
