U.S. Deploys F-22 Stealth Jets to Israel Amid Rising Middle East Tensions

Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, the United States has deployed its advanced F-22 stealth fighter jets to an airbase in southern Israel. The aircraft landed on Tuesday after departing directly from the Royal Air Force’s Lakenheath base in England. Over the past few days, the region has witnessed the movement of dozens of U.S. warplanes, aerial refueling tankers, and hundreds of cargo flights—marking the largest U.S. military presence in the area since the 2003 Iraq invasion.

President Donald Trump has repeatedly warned that he will not hesitate to use military force if diplomatic negotiations with Iran fail. White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt told reporters that while diplomacy remains Trump’s first preference, the U.S. military is prepared to employ its “lethal capabilities” if necessary.

Currently, high-stakes talks are underway in Geneva, Switzerland, where Washington is demanding that Iran completely halt its uranium enrichment program. Trump maintains that U.S. forces could achieve victory with ease if military action becomes necessary, though internal analyses of potential consequences are reportedly ongoing.

Meanwhile, Israeli officials have expressed deep skepticism about the success of diplomacy. Channel 12 reported that Israeli policymakers believe a U.S. strike on Iran is now “inevitable.” A senior Israeli official stated, “If Iran truly agrees to a meaningful diplomatic solution, it would be the biggest surprise of the year.” Israel has urged the U.S. to prevent Iran from using negotiations to buy time, while its military leadership favors a strong strike to neutralize Tehran’s retaliatory capabilities.

In response, Iran is strengthening its military readiness. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has launched extensive exercises along the southern coast, practicing strikes against simulated maritime and coastal targets using drones, mortars, and missiles.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi emphasized that Tehran seeks resolution through negotiations but will mount a strong defense if any aggression occurs. Officials described the situation as a “dangerous gamble” for the United States and reiterated that Iran will not forfeit its peaceful nuclear rights under any circumstances.
