The United States is reportedly stepping up strategic coordination with Israel as it considers expanding military operations against Iran, according to Israeli state broadcaster KAN. The discussions have focused on possible Iranian responses, regional security implications and contingency planning should the conflict intensify.
Citing unnamed security sources, KAN reported that U.S. and Israeli officials have held a series of high-level consultations on potential scenarios, including how the two allies would respond if Iran were to launch attacks against Israel. At the same time, Washington has reportedly indicated that it is seeking to avoid Israel’s direct involvement in the current phase of the conflict.
According to the report, joint security assessments suggest that a further deterioration in the regional situation could prompt Iran to target Israel militarily, potentially triggering an Israeli response. Nevertheless, U.S. officials are said to be aiming to prevent the conflict from expanding into a broader regional war.
Meanwhile, the United States has continued to bolster its military presence in the Middle East. Over the past 24 hours, Washington has reportedly delivered additional munitions and military equipment for fighter aircraft to Israel and deployed more than 10 aerial refueling aircraft from bases in Europe and Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.
Israeli news outlet Ynet reported that the United States is preparing to position around 100 aerial refueling aircraft at various Israeli air bases to support potential future military operations. The Ramon Air Base in southern Israel is expected to play a key role in the deployment.
The report noted that aerial refueling capabilities would be essential for conducting long-range air operations against Iran. It also said that some aircraft could operate from Ben Gurion International Airport, where an additional 14 refueling aircraft have reportedly arrived.
Although the United States and Iran reportedly reached a ceasefire and long-term peace understanding in June, brokered by Pakistan, exchanges of military strikes have intensified again in recent weeks. International media reports say Iran has continued to target U.S. military bases and assets in the region in response to ongoing American military operations.
The reported military planning and security assessments have not been officially confirmed by either the United States or Israel.
