Trump Proposes 20-Point Plan: Aims to Lead Interim Government in Gaza

Washington, D.C.: U.S. President Donald Trump has unveiled a 20-point ceasefire proposal for the Gaza Strip, expressing his intention to personally lead an interim administration. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has already expressed support for the plan.

Following a meeting with Netanyahu at the White House, Trump announced that the new administration, to be formed with international partners, would be called “The Board of Peace”, with him at its helm. He emphasized that he is taking on this role at the request of both Arab and Israeli leaders.

Under the proposal, if Hamas agrees to a ceasefire, Israel would be required to release all hostages—both alive and deceased—within 72 hours. This step is aimed at establishing a lasting ceasefire in Gaza, after which control of the territory would be fully transferred.

Trump stated that the interim government would remove all ambitious factions from power and establish a temporary administration. Subsequently, qualified individuals from the local Palestinian population would be selected to form a full-fledged local government.

The proposal also outlines collaboration with the World Bank and plans to establish a professional, trained police force in Gaza, ensuring proper training and operational readiness. The main goal of the administration would be the complete demilitarization of Gaza and its armed groups.

Among the international figures reportedly involved in the initiative is former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, although his role remains controversial due to his involvement in the Iraq War.

Hamas and other Gaza-based armed groups have not yet issued an official response to the proposal, though Trump has indicated he has received indications that Hamas may be willing to consider it.
