Saudi Arabia has condemned Israel’s decision to cut off aid to the Gaza Strip as blackmail.
The Saudi Press Agency reported this, citing the Foreign Ministry.
The Saudi Foreign Ministry said that the cutting off of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, blackmail and use as a tool of collective punishment are clear violations of international law. It is also a direct violation of international human rights law.
Riyadh called on the international community to stop this serious violation by Israel.
Israel is cutting off all goods and supplies to Gaza at dawn on Sunday. Israel has threatened additional consequences if Hamas does not agree to extend the first phase of the ceasefire.
In a counter-statement, Hamas accused Israel of trying to undermine the ceasefire.
The ceasefire took effect on January 19.
Egypt condemned Israel’s decision to cut off humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. Egypt condemned it as a clear violation of the ceasefire, which was brokered by Cairo.
