Sheikh Hasina invited Narendra Modi to Bangladesh: Foreign Minister

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Bangladesh. Foreign Minister accompanying the Prime Minister in Delhi. Hasan Mahmud told reporters this.

Minister Hasan told reporters on Sunday night at the ITC Maurya Hotel in the Indian capital, New Delhi, that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had a private meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister of India for the third time in a row.
On this occasion he once again congratulated Narendra Modi and the NDA alliance for the election victory and invited Prime Minister Modi to visit Bangladesh.

In the meeting at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed her sincere interest in working with the new government of Narendra Modi to strengthen the ties between the two countries, the foreign minister said.

Dr. Hasan Mahmood said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bangladesh-India relations have reached a new height and Bangladesh and India have many opportunities to work as the closest neighbors.

We have to work together for the further development of both countries, including the development of communication infrastructure to increase people-to-people connection, said the foreign minister.

Earlier, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who was invited as one of the top world leaders, arrived in Delhi on Saturday afternoon at the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi, the leader of the NDA alliance, which won 293 of the 543 seats in the 18th election of the lower house of the Indian Parliament, Lok Sabha.

Indian Ministry of External Affairs Secretary (Overseas Indian Affairs) Ambassador Muktesh Pardesi received the Prime Minister at the airport.

On Sunday evening, the Prime Minister joined the swearing-in ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan along with around 8,000 guests from all over the world. His daughter and World Health Organization Regional Director for Southeast Asia Saima Wazed, Minister of Foreign Affairs. Hasan Mahmud and Prime Minister’s Private Industry and Investment Advisor Salman Fazlur Rahman were with him at the time.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to leave Delhi for Dhaka on Monday afternoon.
