Separate attacks kill 13 in Pakistan

The law and order situation in Pakistan’s Balochistan continues to deteriorate and violence has continued. The latest two separate attacks have killed 13 people.

Gwadar Deputy Commissioner Hamudur Rehman said a Karachi-bound bus was attacked in the Kalmat area. At least six people were killed in the incident.

Jiwani Station House Officer (SHO) Khalid Dasti said the dead and injured were rushed to Pasni Hospital.

Meanwhile, unidentified assailants opened fire on a house in a village in Sohbatpur district and set it on fire. Seven people were killed in the incident.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Yousuf Bangar said the deceased were from the same family and included a woman and three children.

Condemning the attack on the passengers, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed shock and sorrow and directed the authorities concerned to investigate the attack and bring those responsible to justice.

The Prime Minister said the cowardly acts of terrorists on innocent people reflect their barbarity and directed to provide best medical facilities to the injured in the attack.

Last week, terrorists killed at least eight people in Kalat and Noshki districts. The attack in Gwadar came a few days after that.

Recently, at least five people, including three Frontier Corps (FC) soldiers, were killed and 35 injured in a blast in a convoy of paramilitary forces on the Noshki-Dalbandin highway.

Earlier, dozens of terrorists affiliated with the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) blew up a railway track and attacked the Zafar Express. There were more than 440 passengers on board.

In a complex operation, security forces eliminated 33 attackers and rescued the hostages. Several passengers were also killed in the incident. Source: Geo News.
