A wax statue of Princess Catherine (Kate Middleton), one of the most talked-about members of the British royal family, has been newly installed at London’s historic Madame Tussauds. The museum authorities said that the statue has been newly created to properly reflect the status of the future queen.
Kate’s statue is placed next to Prince William, next to the portraits of King Charles III and Queen Camelia. The statue was inspired by the most recent royal outfit—the outfit Kate wore at a diplomatic reception in December 2023.
The statue is wearing a bright pink gown designed by Jenny Packham, silver shoes and a blue ribbon—which is a symbol of the Royal Victorian Order. A replica of the ‘Lover’s Knot’ tiara, which was also used in the portrait of the late Princess Diana, has been carefully placed on the head.
Museum manager Steve Blackburn said, ‘We wanted the dignity, beauty and dignity of the future queen to be reflected in every detail of this statue. Kate Middleton’s statue has been meticulously crafted by our team.’
The statue also features an exact replica of Queen Elizabeth II’s ‘Royal Family Order’ and ‘Greville Diamond Chandelier’ earrings. Prince William’s statue has also been given a makeover – a black suit, white bow tie, Garter Order and military badge have been newly worn.
The unveiling of the new statue comes as 43-year-old Kate Middleton is recovering from cancer treatment. In March 2024, she publicly announced that she was undergoing chemotherapy. The palace previously announced that King Charles III also has cancer and is currently undergoing treatment.
