At a regular press conference in Beijing on October 21, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Qiaokun emphasized that the resolution of the Taiwan issue is entirely China’s internal affair.
Responding to remarks on Taiwan made by U.S. President Donald Trump, Guo reiterated that China’s stance on Taiwan is clear and consistent: Taiwan is an inseparable part of Chinese territory, and the Taiwan issue is fully an internal matter for China. The resolution of the Taiwan question is solely a matter for the Chinese people.
Guo Qiaokun stressed, “We are making our utmost sincere efforts to pursue peaceful reunification. However, no individual or power will be allowed, by any means, to separate Taiwan from China under any circumstances.”
