Minister of Housing and Public Works paid a courtesy call to the war wounded freedom fighter RM Ubaidul Moktadir Chowdhury MP, French Ambassador to Bangladesh, Marie Masdupoui.
The meeting was held in the office room of the Honorable Minister of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works at the Secretariat on Sunday. During the meeting, various aspects of mutual cooperation were discussed including dealing with the impact of climate change, greening the construction sector, environmental protection. At the end of the discussion, the French ambassador assured Bangladesh of cooperation in reducing carbon emissions and dealing with the impact of climate change.
It should be noted that on March 7-8, 2024, the fourteenth representative of 70 countries met at the “Building and Global Forum 2024” in Paris, France. The Bangladesh delegation led by the Minister of Housing and Public Works participated in the forum at the invitation of the French government. The Declaration de Chaillot was adopted at the forum with 9 points of decisions to implement the decisions of the COP-28 conference, reduce carbon emissions and ensure environmental protection.
In the light of the announcement, there was a detailed discussion in the meeting about mutual cooperation between the governments of France and Bangladesh.
