Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev met with Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun on Monday to discuss strengthening bilateral military and security cooperation.
During the meeting, Kasymaliev stated that Kyrgyzstan-China relations are currently developing rapidly and steadily, supported by a high level of political mutual trust between the two countries.
He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan regards China as one of its key strategic partners and expressed his country’s readiness to further deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership with Beijing. He also highlighted the importance of enhancing cooperation on both bilateral and multilateral platforms, particularly within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Kasymaliev noted that the current international environment is marked by instability, with emerging security challenges and threats continuing to intensify across the region and beyond.
He stressed that expanding practical bilateral military cooperation has become increasingly important for jointly addressing terrorism, extremism, separatism, transnational crime, and other security threats.
Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun described China and Kyrgyzstan as friendly neighbors, close friends, and reliable partners. He said that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries, bilateral relations have achieved significant progress, while cooperation across various sectors has reached a new level.
Dong added that military ties between the two nations have developed strongly in recent years, producing fruitful exchanges and cooperation in multiple fields.
According to the Chinese defense minister, China is prepared to continuously deepen its traditional friendship with Kyrgyzstan, improve the quality and effectiveness of cooperation, and strengthen coordination on multilateral platforms.
He said such efforts would help both countries maintain a peaceful environment for development and national rejuvenation while contributing greater positive energy to an increasingly turbulent world.
