Israeli forces have carried out fresh attacks across multiple areas of the Gaza Strip despite an ongoing ceasefire, killing at least three Palestinians, including two children, and injuring several others, according to medical sources and eyewitnesses.
Medical officials told Anadolu Agency that two teenagers from the Al-Jawara family were killed in an Israeli drone strike near Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza. The victims were identified as 14-year-old Salman Zakaria and 15-year-old Mohammad Yousef, both residents of the area.
Eyewitnesses said the Israeli drone strike occurred in a zone from which Israeli forces had previously withdrawn under the terms of the ceasefire agreement, raising serious concerns over continued violations of the truce.
Earlier, several Palestinians were injured in an Israeli attack on Old Gaza Street in Jabalia, also in northern Gaza, according to a source from the ambulance and emergency services.
In a separate incident, Israeli gunfire wounded a Palestinian in the Al-Salatin neighborhood of Beit Lahia, medical sources confirmed.
Further south, medical officials reported that one Palestinian was killed in an Israeli attack in the Kizan al-Najjar area, south of Khan Younis.
On Saturday morning, another Palestinian sustained a head injury after Israeli gunfire in central Khan Younis. A medical source said the shooting came from an Israeli quadcopter drone hovering over the Jasser Building intersection in the city center. Eyewitnesses confirmed the drone opened fire on civilians in the area.
Rising Death Toll Despite Ceasefire:
Since October 2023, Israel’s military offensive on Gaza has killed more than 71,600 people, the majority of them women and children, according to local authorities. At least 171,300 people have been injured, while vast swathes of the enclave have been reduced to rubble.
Despite the ceasefire taking effect on October 10 last year, Israel has continued military operations in Gaza. According to the Gaza Health Ministry, these post-ceasefire attacks have resulted in the deaths of at least 481 Palestinians and injuries to 1,313 others.
Human rights groups and international observers have repeatedly warned that continued attacks during a ceasefire not only deepen the humanitarian crisis but also undermine prospects for lasting peace.
