Iran has serious complaints about the possibility of regional war

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian has made serious accusations against the arch-enemy Israel. He appeared at the press conference for the first time on Monday (September 16) after assuming power last July. During this time he spoke on various issues. Pezeshkian accused Israel of trying to drag Iran into a regional war.

Pezeshkian made such comments amid the ongoing tension between the two countries. He said, by killing Ismail Haniya, Israel wants to involve Tehran in the regional war. But Iran has the right to defend itself. The assassination on Tehran soil created new tensions in regional politics.

Haniya was assassinated on July 31 when he went to Tehran to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new President Pezheshkian. He was the head of the political wing of Hamas. Iran has been blaming Israel for this killing. The country has also warned of extreme retaliation for this. However, Israel has denied responsibility for the killings.

Pezeshkian claimed at the press conference that Iran is not trying to build nuclear weapons. He said this while defending his country’s nuclear program. Iran’s president said, we don’t have missiles. Israel can bomb us anytime like Gaza. We will not give up our ability to defend ourselves.

At the election rally, Pezeshkian promised to improve relations with the West. The issue also came up in Monday’s press conference. A journalist wants to know Pezeshkian, whether to meet him after the election of the new president in the United States in November? In response, the Iranian president said that a direct meeting can be held only if the promises are kept.

Since the Islamic Revolution of 1979, Tehran has been regarded as an enemy by the United States and Israel. Despite the tension between the 3 countries, it has increased in the last 11 months. Especially in the ongoing aggression of Israel in Gaza, there is a possibility of Iran getting involved in the war with Israel. However, analysts believe that neither Tel Aviv nor Tehran wants to get involved in a direct war right now.
