Govt  Initiative to Apply Modern Technology for the Sustainable Development of the Rubber Industry 

Highlighting the vast potential of Bangladesh’s rubber industry, Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change and the Ministry of Water Resources, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, stated that the government is working towards advancing this sector through sustainable management. She emphasized that the collective efforts of all stakeholders can drive the development of the rubber industry.

She made these remarks as the chief guest at a discussion with officials and employees of the Bangladesh Rubber Board in Chattogram on Tuesday evening.

The Advisor stressed the importance of applying modern technology in rubber cultivation, production, and marketing. She also emphasized the need for environmentally friendly rubber production, which would contribute to forest conservation and reduce climate change risks. Shahed Chowdhury highlighted various challenges and opportunities in the industry. Also present were Director of the Bangladesh Forest Research Institute, A.K.M. Shawkat Alam Majumdar, Chattogram Regional Forest Conservator Molla Rezaul Karim, Director of the Bangladesh Forest Academy Md. Aminul Islam, along with other officials and employees of the Rubber Board.

Following the meeting, the Advisor visited the activities of the Rubber Board.
