European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has warned that the ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States is already affecting both European citizens and the continent’s economy. Speaking at a meeting with EU ambassadors on Monday, she emphasized that the negative consequences of this regional crisis are becoming a tangible reality.
Von der Leyen noted that ordinary Europeans are caught in the crossfire of the conflict. She also stressed the importance of protecting the freedom and dignity of the Iranian people and ensuring their right to determine their own future.
In international markets, the price of crude oil has surpassed US$100 per barrel. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer also cautioned that if the conflict continues, its economic impact could deepen significantly across Europe.
