Drone attack on Gaza-bound aid ship Israel

Israel has launched a drone attack on a ship carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza. The attack occurred on Friday in Malta’s international waters.

The Maltese government and those who sent aid on the ship said that everyone was safely rescued from the bombed ship.

The international non-governmental organization Freedom Flotilla Coalition has released video footage of the Conscience ship that was hit by a drone attack. They pointed their finger at Israel in this incident.

The organization said that the Israeli ambassador will definitely be summoned in the attack on the ship and accountability will be sought for violating international law.

Israel’s Foreign Ministry did not immediately comment on the incident.

The Maltese government said that on May Day, the maritime authorities received a call saying that a ship had caught fire in the middle of the night. The ship was in international waters and was carrying 12 crew members and four civilians. A tugboat near the scene tried to put out the fire on the aid ship. A Maltese patrol ship was also sent to the scene. The crew was safely rescued a few hours later.

In a post on social media, the international NGO Freeze Flotilla Coalition said the attack threatened to sink the ship. It was carrying 30 international human rights activists. They had originally united to campaign against the Israeli blockade of Gaza. Source: Reuters
