The Country Director of the World Food Programme (WFP), Ms. Simone Parchment, met with State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief, Md. Iqbal Hossain, at the Secretariat this morning.
During the meeting, the WFP Country Director briefed the State Minister on the organization’s ongoing activities. She noted that WFP has been working closely and in coordination with the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief to support affected communities and alleviate suffering caused by disasters.
Welcoming the delegation, the State Minister expressed optimism that WFP’s operations in Bangladesh would expand further in the coming days, strengthening efforts to address humanitarian challenges.
Among others present at the meeting were WFP Senior Partnership Advisor Md. Mohsin, Head of Programme Jesse Wood, and Head of Emergency Preparedness and Response Mahfuz Alam.
