Today, April 14, the countdown to 1432 began in the Bengali calendar. And crowds of people have descended on Ramna Park in the capital to welcome the new year.

People from all walks of life, regardless of religion, caste, rich or poor, participated in the festival, which began at 6:15 am. As a result, this arrangement of the first day of Baishakh has taken the form of a huge and colorful festival.

As soon as the light of day broke in the Ramna Batamul on Monday, the new year was ushered in by the Chhayanauts with the tune of the flute in the Ahir Bhairav ​​raga.

The main message of the New Year’s Eve program is ‘Amar Mukti Aloy Aloy’. Today’s program has been arranged with songs of love for light, nature, people and country. The hope for a beautiful future and the inspiration to develop oneself as a worthwhile person by loving people is expressed through songs, music and conversation.

As the day progresses, the crowd of people in Ramna increases. Men, women and children are coming in droves. They are entering the park through the two gates in front of Shahbagh and Matsya Bhavan. Before entering Ramna, police members search everyone through the archway and let them in. Hundreds of people are walking along the sidewalks on both sides of the road from Shahbagh to Matsya Bhavan. All of them are wearing Baishakh clothes. Some are taking pictures while walking. They do not forget to take selfies. Some have brought umbrellas with them to protect themselves from the intense sun.

On this day, women are dressed in Bengali attire in red and white sarees, glass bangles, and pendants. The men are adorned with Punjabis of the same color and design. Many are adorned with Rajnigandha and Beli flower garlands on their heads. They have joined the morning program of Ramna Batamul Chhayanaut’s song and poetry session.

In addition, another gate has been built on the west side of the overbridge between Shahbagh and Matsyabhaban. People entering the park are exiting through it after their visit. However, the number of people entering is several times higher than the number of people leaving.

Police have also been seen providing water to people panting in the intense heat. Police members are on duty at important places throughout the park. They are very active to prevent any kind of unpleasant incident.

Various government and private television channels, Bangladesh Betar and YouTube channels are broadcasting this New Year’s Eve program live.

The entire Ramna Park area has been covered in security for the New Year’s Eve event. DMP and RAB control rooms have been set up. The entrance and exit routes have been separated.
