China’s military drills around Taiwan increase

Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense said it had detected 35 Chinese military aircraft, 8 naval ships and 2 government ships around Taiwan.

Of these, 25 aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered Taiwan’s northern and southwestern Air Defense Identification Zones (ADIZ). They reported this information last Thursday (May 14).

The previous day, 31 Chinese aircraft and seven warships entered Taiwan’s territory. Taiwan is regularly monitoring these incidents and responding appropriately.

China launched a satellite from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center on the same day (May 14). The launch path crossed the central region of Taiwan and went towards the western Pacific Ocean.

Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense said the launch was high-altitude and posed no direct threat to Taiwan, but they were monitoring the situation.
