“China in Spring” Dialogue in Thailand Opens New Horizons for Global Development

A global dialogue titled “China in Spring: China’s Development and the World’s Opportunities” was held in Thailand on March 20 (local time), organized by China Media Group (CMG). Shen Haixiong, Deputy Head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and President of CMG, delivered a video address at the event.

The dialogue brought together prominent figures including Chinese Ambassador to Thailand Chang Jianwei, Chairman of the Thai Senate Foreign Affairs Committee Nirat Yubakdi, and former Thai Deputy Prime Minister Pinij Jarusombat. Over 200 participants from political, business, academic, and media sectors of both countries attended the event.

In his remarks, Shen Haixiong emphasized that “China can only do well when the world does well, and when China prospers, the world benefits even more.” He noted that during China’s “Two Sessions,” President Xi Jinping highlighted the importance of high-level opening-up, expanding global markets, and strengthening integration with the international economic cycle. These efforts, he said, demonstrate that China’s door to openness will continue to widen.

He also pointed to the rapid development of new quality productive forces in China, citing innovations ranging from robotics showcased during the Spring Festival Gala to emerging economic models such as “film plus tourism” and “film plus cuisine.” As one of the world’s largest and most diverse international media organizations, CMG aims to leverage its communication networks and technological strengths to share the benefits of China’s modernization and foster global cooperation.

Ambassador Chang Jianwei noted that China and Thailand celebrated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations last year, marked by a state visit to China by the Thai King and Queen. He highlighted that the recently concluded “Two Sessions” approved China’s 15th Five-Year Plan, which not only charts China’s development path but also creates new opportunities for global growth. He reaffirmed China’s commitment to being a reliable partner for Thailand and to advancing a “China–Thailand Community with a Shared Future.”

Nirat Yubakdi stated that Thailand places great importance on learning from China’s development experience, including sending delegations to study high-tech industries. He highlighted China’s progress in semiconductors, artificial intelligence, quantum technology, new energy vehicles, and space technology, noting their positive impact on ASEAN countries. Thailand, he said, is eager to deepen cooperation and strengthen traditional friendship with China.

Former Deputy Prime Minister Pinij Jarusombat remarked that China’s development benefits not only its own people but also serves as a key driver of global economic growth. He expressed confidence that the initiative to build a China–Thailand community of shared prosperity will achieve meaningful success.

Pakorn Apaphant, Director of Thailand’s Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), highlighted the strong bilateral cooperation in space exploration, infrastructure development, technology application, and talent training. Meanwhile, Huang Weiwei from CP Group noted that China’s vast market continues to create significant opportunities for global development, supported by initiatives such as the China International Import Expo, the China International Supply Chain Expo, and policies like zero tariffs in Hainan.

During the dialogue session, participants from business, media, and technology sectors—including representatives from the Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand, the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Haier Thailand—exchanged views on the opportunities created by China’s 15th Five-Year Plan and its high-quality development.

The event received wide coverage across major Thai media outlets, including Thai National, Thai PBS, Channel 7, Nation TV, and Thairath, as well as leading media organizations in Pakistan and Nepal.
