China and Slovenia Strengthen Ties on the 33rd Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations

Beijing, Monday- Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) Zhao Leji and Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wang Huning held separate meetings in Beijing with Marko Lotrič, President of Slovenia’s National Assembly.

During the meeting, Chairman Zhao Leji noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 33 years ago, China and Slovenia have always adhered to the principles of equality, mutual respect, trust, and win–win cooperation. He said the bilateral relationship has maintained a healthy and stable momentum of development, with increasingly close exchanges at various levels.

Zhao emphasized that the NPC is willing to deepen exchanges between legislative bodies of both nations and enhance the sharing of experience in governance to promote mutual understanding and cooperation.

Chairman Wang Huning remarked that China seeks to expand cooperation across multiple sectors, strengthen mutually beneficial partnerships, and work together with Slovenia for common development. He added that the CPPCC looks forward to further deepening mutual learning and dialogue with the Slovenian National Assembly.

In response, President Marko Lotrič reaffirmed Slovenia’s commitment to the one-China policy and expressed appreciation for China’s continued global initiatives. He stated that Slovenia is willing to work alongside China in upholding international justice and advancing shared global interests.
