Today, July 1, 2022, with the financial support of China and Bangladeshi members of the China-Bangladesh Friendship Center-CBFC, one-week food packets were distributed among 100 flood-affected families of Mughalbasa and Panchgachhi Unions in Kurigram District headquarters of Bangladesh. Each packet contains rice, pulses, chira, muri, oil, potatoes, and onions.; a small family has a week’s worth of food with salt in each packet.
Kurigram District Senior Sessions Judge Mr. Mohammad Abdul Mannan inaugurated the program. A group of volunteers led by Mr. Mohammad Shariful Islam, Social Welfare Secretary of CBFC and Coordinator of Flood Relief Project, reached Kurigram in the morning with relief materials from Dhaka. The day-long program ends at 6.30 pm.
CBFC President Mr. Guo Pei Lin Peter, General Secretary Mr. Dr. Fakhrul Islam Babu, and Mr. Jason Zhang, CBFC’s Chamber of Commerce and Secretary and Director of the Flood Relief Project, oversaw the relief work round the clock.
