Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Qian explained China’s position on the current Middle East situation at a regular press conference in Beijing. He said that China calls on all parties to take immediate measures to defuse the situation, avoid further instability in the region, and return to dialogue to create favorable conditions for resolving the issue. If the conflict between Israel and Iran continues to escalate, Middle Eastern countries will suffer.
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi spoke with the foreign ministers of Iran and Israel, respectively, on the phone and called for resolving differences through dialogue. The two countries should prevent escalation and take measures to defuse the tense situation.
The spokesman also said that lasting peace cannot be achieved through force. Any international crisis must be resolved through dialogue and negotiation. China will maintain communication with all parties concerned and work to promote peace talks and prevent the deterioration of the regional situation.
