Australia will enter the T20 series against Bangladesh after losing the ODI series 2–1, a result that has put the visitors under pressure and slightly on the back foot ahead of the shorter format.
However, Australia captain Mitchell Marsh has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to bounce back quickly. Speaking at a pre-series press conference at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Matiur Rahman Stadium in Chattogram, Marsh said the squad has undergone some changes and is ready to respond strongly.
He noted that the experience from the ODI series would help Australia approach the T20 format differently, adding that the team is determined to put the disappointment behind them.
Although regular opener Travis Head is absent from the squad, Marsh highlighted the inclusion of middle-order batter Tim David as a major boost, describing him as one of the best finishers in world cricket and an important addition to the team’s balance.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh captain Litton Das has acknowledged Australia’s aggressive intent but emphasized that his side will focus on playing their natural game without undue pressure against a top-quality opponent.
Marsh also praised Bangladesh’s bowling attack and the playing conditions, saying Australia had faced a tough challenge during the ODI series.
Both teams now head into the T20 series with clear objectives—Australia aiming for a strong comeback, while Bangladesh look to maintain their momentum and consistency.
