15 people have been killed in multiple Israeli attacks overnight in the Gaza Strip

Palestinian authorities say 15 people have been killed in multiple Israeli attacks overnight in the Gaza Strip.

Six people were killed in an airstrike on a family’s residence in Gaza City early Friday morning, Gaza’s civil defense department said. It is unknown how many of them are children. A group of people were attacked on the streets of Gaza City and another person was killed in the incident.

Israel says it is only targeting militants. They allege that Hamas and other armed groups are putting civilians at risk by operating from residential areas. The Israeli military had no immediate comment. Note that the force does not usually comment on individual attacks.

Gaza’s health ministry says more than 41,000 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip since a surprise attack by Hamas on October 7. The ministry did not separate the number of combatants and civilians killed in the figures, but said more than half of those killed were women and children.

Israel says they have killed more than 17,000 militants. However, they have not provided any evidence to support this claim.

Meanwhile, the leader of Lebanon’s Hezbollah vowed to retaliate in response to a deadly attack on its communications devices after Israel’s defense minister declared a “new phase” in the ongoing war.

Civil Defense said an Israeli attack on a vehicle in Beit Hanoun, north of Gaza City, killed one person and wounded several others.

Six more people were killed in an attack on a house in central Gaza City on Thursday night. One person was killed in Beit Lahiya, north of Gaza City.

The war has caused extensive damage and nearly 90 percent of Gaza’s 2.3 million people are now displaced.
