Youth shot dead on Thakurgaon border, BGB strongly protested at the flag meeting

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) strongly condemned and strongly protested the killing of a Bangladeshi youth named Jayant Kumar Singh (15) by Indian Border Guard Force BSF on the border of Baliadangi area of ​​Thakurgaon district on September 9 (Monday).

BGB Thakurgaon sector headquarters made this protest in a courtesy meeting with BGB North West Region Commander and IG BSF North Bengal Frontier Commander at Banglabandha in Panchagarh and Phulbari ICP in India on Thursday (September 12) afternoon.

Region Commander North West Region Rangpur, Sector Commander Thakurgaon and other BGB officials were present on behalf of BGB in the courtesy call. IG North Bengal Frontier Commander, Siliguri and Kishanganj Sector Commanders and other BSF officials were present on behalf of BSF.

In a press release, BSF shot and killed a Bangladeshi citizen, Jayant Kumar Singh (15), in Baliadangi area of ​​Thakurgaon on September 9 by a BSF patrol team. The incident was strongly condemned by the BGB on Thursday.

The BSF North Bengal Frontier Commander expressed grief over this untoward incident and assured the BGB delegation that no Bangladeshi nationals would be fired on at the BSF border in future. The courtesy meeting concluded in a peaceful atmosphere with the agreement of BGB-BSF to work jointly to prevent illegal border crossing and cross-border crime among all citizens in the border areas of both the countries.
