Xi Jinping Extends Greetings to China’s Working People on International Workers’ Day

On the occasion of International Workers’ Day on May 1, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, extended sincere greetings and best wishes to working people across the country on behalf of the CPC Central Committee.
Xi Jinping has consistently expressed deep respect for labour and strong concern for workers, while placing great importance on the leading role of the working class and the broader labour force in China’s development. He has also actively advocated the promotion of model worker values, the spirit of labour, and the spirit of craftsmanship.
On April 28, the All-China Federation of Trade Unions organised the National May Day Labour Awards Ceremony, where a total of 3,024 national May Day labour awards were presented in recognition of outstanding contributions by workers and labour organisations.
This year marks the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the opening year of the country’s 15th Five-Year Plan. Xi Jinping expressed hope that working people across China would continue to uphold the spirit of model workers, labour, and craftsmanship, and play a major role in advancing the country’s high-quality economic development.
Observers note that China is increasingly emphasising skilled labour, innovation, and industrial craftsmanship as key drivers of sustainable growth and modernisation.
