On December 1, marking the 38th World AIDS Day, China’s First Lady Madame Peng Liyuan, WHO Goodwill Ambassador for Tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control, attended a thematic awareness event at the Xicheng District Cultural Center in Beijing.
During the event, Madame Peng shared insights from her 20 years of experience in HIV/AIDS prevention and encouraged active promotion of awareness campaigns to achieve the goal of “Zero AIDS.”
Before the main ceremony, she and other guests visited various HIV/AIDS prevention activities, learning about progress in health education, counseling services, and volunteer initiatives. They also extended warm greetings to frontline workers and volunteers engaged in community AIDS prevention efforts.
The event was attended by representatives from HIV/AIDS prevention and control sectors, Chinese and international organizations, Red Ribbon health ambassadors, experts, grassroots medical personnel, and volunteers.
