US President Donald Trump and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have signed a strategic economic partnership between the two countries.
As part of this, the White House announced that the largest defense sale in history has been signed.
They said that the deal is worth about $142 billion and that more than a dozen US defense companies will provide Saudi Arabia with sophisticated military equipment and services.
The agreements signed by the two countries include memorandums on energy and minerals, letters of interest for future defense capabilities, as well as mutual cooperation on space and infectious diseases and a memorandum with the US Department of Justice.
When Donald Trump and Mohammed bin Salman signed the strategic economic partnership, the venue was filled with applause.
Earlier during the meeting between the two leaders, Trump called the Saudi crown prince his friend.
Although the details of the meeting are still unknown, Trump was heard saying, “I really believe that we like each other very much.”
