US evacuates staff from Baghdad embassy over fears of Iranian attack

Tensions between Iran and the US over the nuclear disarmament agreement are increasing. The US has evacuated non-essential staff from the US embassy in Baghdad, Iraq, for security reasons. The Trump administration has taken this step due to rising military tensions in the Middle East and fears of a possible Iranian attack on the US embassy in Iraq.

The international news media BBC reported this information in a report on Thursday.

US officials said that they have received information that Israel is preparing to launch a military operation against Iran. And if Israel attacks Iran, Tehran may retaliate. They may also attack US military bases or embassies in the Middle East, which support Israel. The staff has been evacuated from the US embassy with these concerns in mind.

In addition, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has approved the return of family members of American military personnel from various countries in the Middle East, including Kuwait and Bahrain.

Recently, the ongoing talks with the United States on Iran’s nuclear program have stalled. However, US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff is planning to hold a sixth round of meetings with Iranian officials on June 15.

Meanwhile, US President Trump said that Americans have been advised to leave the region. Because it can be a dangerous place.

He said that the United States will not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons in any way. He also expressed hope that Iran will stop enriching uranium on its own.

On the other hand, Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh has warned of military action if the Americans overreact to the nuclear deal if it fails. He said that if the talks fail and Trump orders a military strike against Iran, Tehran will retaliate against US bases.

The Pentagon, the headquarters of the US Department of Defense, claims that they have clear information that Iran is moving towards developing something like a nuclear weapon. However, Iran has said that Tehran’s uranium enrichment program is only for civilian fuel production. Iran has also said it is not even trying to build a nuclear bomb.

Negotiations with the United States on Iran’s nuclear disarmament are becoming increasingly complicated. This is increasing military tension in the Middle East. As a result, there is a risk of a major conflict after the Gaza war.
