UN Security Council meeting on Iran-Israel conflict

The members of the UN Security Council are meeting in New York to discuss the Israel-Iran conflict.

They are meeting at a time when diplomatic talks between the Iranian foreign minister and European foreign ministers have begun in Geneva.

Meanwhile, Iran has fired new missiles targeting various locations in Israel for the seventh consecutive day on Friday amid attacks and counterattacks.

In a statement, the Israeli military said that sirens have sounded in various areas across the country after missiles launched from Iran were detected a short time ago.

British media Reuters reported that explosions were heard in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and the Israeli Air Force is working to intercept the missiles launched by Iran.

The conflict, which began with Israel’s attack on Iran’s nuclear and military facilities on June 13 (Friday), has created extreme tension in the Middle East. Attacks and counterattacks are underway targeting various installations.
