State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the sale of onion imported from India in front of the TCB building in Caravan Bazar on Tuesday (April 2nd) morning.

State Minister Ahsanul Islam also said, ‘The ministry is working to increase the supply of products in the market. I will arrange to bring the rest of the onions gradually. In response to a question, he added that the ministry is working on trade agreements with Myanmar, Russia and Brazil for essential products in addition to India. ”

In the speech of the special guest, Tapan Kanti Ghosh, senior secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, said, ‘This import program is the result of the successful trade diplomacy of the government. He hoped that there would be a special quota for Bangladesh despite India’s export ban. Earlier, Director General of National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate AHM Safikuzzaman gave a brief speech.

Incidentally, 1,650 tons of onions of 50,000 metric tons of onion imported from India have reached the country. Every consumer can buy onion at the rate of Tk 40 which is being sold from today in open markets of Gazipur and Chittagong along with 100 places in Dhaka city.

At this time Trading Corporation of Bangladesh Chairman Brig Gen. Md. Ariful Hasan, PSC, Additional Directors of Trading Corporation of Bangladesh Khandaker Nurul Haque and Mohammad Rabiul Morshed, Ward Councilor Shamim Hasan and related officials were present.
