The High Representative of the Chief Adviser on Rohingya issues and priority issues has asked for Qatar’s strong cooperation in the return of the Rohingyas to their country. Khalilur Rahman.
Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs at the Sheraton Hotel in Doha on Monday evening. He made this call in a meeting with Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz Bin Saleh Al Khulaifi.
High representative in the meeting. Khalil highlighted the situation of Rohingyas in Bangladesh. He told the State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar that about 1.2 million Rohingyas have been staying in Bangladesh since 2007, creating social, economic and environmental problems and disrupting national security. The High Representative said that the world’s attention and efforts are needed to solve the Rohingya problem.
He mentioned that the United Nations General Assembly unanimously decided to organize an international conference on the Rohingya issue in response to the call of the Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus. Qatar can actively cooperate with this conference to be held next year.
Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs assured extensive cooperation in this regard. He told the High Representative that Qatar attaches special importance to the inhumane situation of Rohingyas and the issue of Rohingyas as Muslims.
In the meeting, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Bin Saleh Al Kholaifi inquired about the current situation in Bangladesh. High Representative Khalilur Rahman informed that the situation in Bangladesh is quite stable.
The Qatari State Minister for Foreign Affairs reiterated Qatar’s strong support to the Interim Government of Bangladesh and extended his best wishes to Professor Muhammad Yunus and the people.
