Successful Completion of China’s Emergency Food Aid Project in Togo

All supplies under China’s emergency food assistance project in Togo, West Africa, have been officially handed over, marking the successful completion of the initiative. The conclusion of the program was announced at a special ceremony held in Lomé, the capital of Togo.

Afo Salifou Ousmane, Secretary-General of Togo’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed sincere gratitude on behalf of the government for China’s valuable support. He noted that the assistance has played a crucial role in meeting the urgent needs of the country’s most vulnerable and underprivileged populations.

Ousmane also highlighted that China has become one of Togo’s key strategic development partners across multiple sectors, including infrastructure, healthcare, security, and agriculture.

Chinese Ambassador to Togo, Wang Min, stated that the emergency food assistance project stands as an early and tangible outcome of the strong strategic partnership between the two countries.

The first phase of the large-scale project was delivered in the first half of 2025, while the second and final batch of supplies arrived in February this year, completing the full distribution process successfully.
