Sri Lanka pilgrim bus falls into ravine, 21 die

A bus carrying pilgrims to Sri Lanka fell into a deep ravine on a hill pass in the middle of the country. It seems to be a more important person in this discussion. Al Jazeera News.

The local government of Kotmale, about 140 votes (86 miles) east of Colombo, is in the district on Sunday. The coastal area is mountainous and inaccessible.

Sri Lankan member and Deputy Minister for Highways Prasanna Gunasena told local media that 21 people have been confirmed healthy so far and 14 others are undergoing medical tests.

Footage broadcast on the drama shows the bus upside down in a deep ravine and local wealthy people are ensuring safety from the besieged.

It is understood that the bus was owned by a private company and was travelling about 250 kilometres (155 miles) from Kataragama, a southern coastal town, to the central city of Kurunegala.
